Dr. Andrew Funk

Background

I grew up in a family of educators. In fact, my father, Dennis Funk, who wrote this course, was my sixth grade teacher. Upon graduation from Immanuel High School in Reedley, California, I entered University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). After graduating from UCLA with a BA, I spent one year at New England Conservator of Music in Boston, and then onto the Juilliard School of Music in New York where I earned a Master's Degree. I recently completed my Doctoral work at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. I live in Evanston, Illinois, just north of Chicago.
